It is highly regrettable that some fool has made such a decision. Based on what I saw there a few nights ago I would not return.
Why go there and pay the prices and feel as though it is nothing different from the local suburban cafe. Such a short sighted decision by some senior executive who should be sacked.
Looking forward to this after 2 weeks government quarantine but was sadly disappointed in the dish I was most looking forward to.
Not a great start for 3 of MaIn course was not up to expectations either. No complaints with service, wine, venue etc. Attended High Tea with a group of 16 people, a little underwhelmed by the service, and the ability to share the food around the rather large table.
Service was lacking with the "waiter" not being able to refresh the tea. As this was quite a My wife and I attended for a birthday dinner and had a thoroughly pleasant evening.
The views, setting and wait staff were all excellent and my selections Cape Grim beef tartare and the confit chicken were fabulous. My wife chose the risotto, which she enjoyed Not withstanding this, we both enjoyed our evening greatly and will certainly be back again.
From the initial ride up in the lift - 4 persons max or restricted to your own individual group - to the generous spacing of the tables on the dining floor - we felt very Covid safe during the whole meal.
The service was professional, I started with Tartare for entre followed by Crayfish Thermidore, my first ever, for the main and it was scrumptious.
David our host and matire'd, was extremely knowledgeable with the wine list recommending a Apsley Gorge pinot noir which was probably the best pinot I had ever tasted.
I finished the meal with an order of crepes prepared and flambe'ed right at the table in a very showy spectacle. All in all a very enjoyable evening for our small group of six.
Keep up the good work Point in these difficult times. I certainly look forward to coming back in the not too distant future.
A special night out at the Revolving Restaurant. Service was fabulous. So attentive and thoughtful. The atmosphere is just so elegant and serene.
Food was delicious. We were provided with a small tasting dish on the house which was like having a mini lamb roast We had the duck liver parfait delicious and Pork Belly.
The Prawns were good but a bit difficult to eat because the soup ended up on the table. For mains duck breast and gnocchi which was tasty and I loved the accompanying vegetables.
And flaming crepes suzette cooked at the table. Overall a really wonderful evening. Prices are The service was excellent - attentive, polite, pleasant - as always.
The views are excellent, despite the rain and clouds. We were disappointed to be seated right next to another table of two diners - who were loud and even made a phone call during Initially we were the only two tables of diners - I suspect diners are placed next to each other for ease of serving by staff, but when a place is half empty it would be great to have a buffer of space between diners.
Much better for the diners, and the diners surely are the most important people in a restaurant. For the first time ever in my experience the meals were disappointing.
We were there for lunch with some friends, and our first surprise was that it was a fixed menu. There were plenty of choices but I had not realised the menu was not a la carte.
I have a small appetite and could not do justice to two courses, let alone three, so much of my food was wasted - the servings were always generous.
The amuse-bouche was excellent - a great start. Entrees of quail, sashimi and goat's feta were all very good. For mains, apparently the duck that two of our party had was very good.
The disappointment was with the fish dish, blue eye trevalla. My experience with blue eye has always been excellent, but I found this dish close to inedible.
The assortment of flavours seemed disjointed and at odds with each other. Some flavour was tainting the fish, so instead of a delicate fish flesh we were confronted with a strange-tasting fish.
Had this been my first ever experience with blue eye I would never eat it again! Desserts chocolate tart, pavlova, cheese were mostly fully devoured, however I found the chocolate tart leaning too much to non-sweet.
